KENWOOD INTRODUCES NEW EXCELON CD RECEIVERS

LONG BEACH, CA (Car Entertainment) --
Kenwood USA Corporation announced the introduction of three new eXcelon CD receivers that deliver legendary Kenwood audio performance, enhanced connectivity to portable digital media and dramatic new looks. Each model has a two-year consumer warranty and is available only through authorized Kenwood eXcelon retailers.

The flagship KDC-X993 ($350 suggested retail price) is the first eXcelon CD receiver with built-in Bluetooth technology designed by industry-leader, Parrot. An expanded 5-line LCD text display shows not only a full ten-digit phone number but multiple, scrolling phone book entries for maximum convenience and driver safety. The KDC-X993 is also equipped with an advanced digital sound processor called “Sound Excellence,” 4-volt preamp outputs and built-in high pass and low pass crossovers, making the KDC-X993 a true audio performer. This CD receiver is not only iPhone and iPod ready, it also includes a unique EQ feature that extracts the best possible sound from the iPod, iTouch or iPhone. A new “Favorite Memory” function allows the user to easily program and directly access specific selections from multiple sources such as favorite satellite radio stations, often dialed phone numbers over Bluetooth, favorite albums from an iPod, specific programming over HD Radio, or any combination (optional iPod, HD Radio or satellite radio accessories may be required). Variable color illumination allows the user to choose a combination of 64 different faceplate colors, giving the KDC-X993 beautiful looks along with outstanding audio performance.

The KDC-X693 ($230 suggested retail price) shares all of the audio performance and functionality of the KDC-X993, with the exception of built-in Bluetooth, however, there is the option of upgrading to Bluetooth hands-free operation at a later time (requires the optional KCA-BT200 Bluetooth module, $150 suggested retail price).

The KDC-X493 ($190 suggested retail price) features an illuminated front-panel USB input, perfect for use with high-capacity flash drives or for plugging in an iPod. An illuminated 3.5mm auxiliary input is located next to the USB input, giving the user even more media options from which to choose. A scrolling 13-segment fluorescent display shows more complete title information when being used with iPod, iPhone, iTouch, flash drives, HD Radio or satellite radio (requires optional equipment). The KDC-X493 also has the “Favorite Memory” function for convenient direct access to favorite sources, stations and music.
